Vacuum using suction only on low setting keeping clear of the fringe. Turn off the beater bar/rotating brush since it can pull at both the nubby pebble-texture yarn and the cotton content in the blend. Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth; when spot cleaning, use minimal moisture and a mild detergent, as the cotton fibres are more absorbent than wool alone and slower to dry. Avoid soaking and steam cleaning. Gently trim any loose yarn, do not pull. Rotate every 3–6 months for even wear, keep out of prolonged direct sunlight, and check occasionally that the raised, nubby yarn isn't snagging, pilling, or crushing under furniture legs (use pads under heavy pieces.

What a fabulous find!
